Linda Palmo, Ed.D.
Linda began private practice as a Counseling Psychologist in 1980 and in 1986 founded Bethlehem Counseling Associates along with her husband, Artis "Pete" Palmo. In 2016, after working with Kim and Paul Woodling for a year to insure the success and longevity of the practice, Linda and Pete passed the ownership and leadership of BCA to them. Linda continues to work as a counselor on a limited basis for BCA.
Linda’s background includes working in the schools as a teacher and a counselor; working at Lehigh University’s Counseling Center; working at Easton Hospital as a rehabilitation counselor, staff psychologist and Instructor of Medical Residents; adjunct teaching at Temple University and Chestnut Hill College; and providing services through The Lutheran Home at Topton. She has written several book chapters and has done many presentations for the general public and mental health professionals regarding family dynamics and at risk youth. A highlight of her career was when she and her husband were selected to discuss family dynamics for Walden University’s “Distinguished Scholars” video series for their virtual classroom.
As you can see, Linda has had many diverse interests and experiences through the years. She is currently in the “last chapter” of her professional life and working on a limited basis so she no longer accepts new clients. But she is always happy to welcome back her returning clients. Her approach to counseling has always been based in establishing a relationship with her clients and seeing the issues they present within the context of their life journey. She still finds people so interesting and is always amazed by the resilience that people show in the face of adversity. As one of the founders of BCA, she sees part of her role now as supporting and endorsing the current BCA staff members. They are a diverse and talented group of individuals and it has been her privilege to work with them. Linda is a hometown girl who grew up in Allentown, PA. She loves to hear the stories her clients have to present and feels honored to have been a part of so many people's lives through the years.
